Terms of service

The rules for using Dot, in plain language.

Last updated October 11, 2026

About these terms

These terms apply when you create an account with Dot or use it for your business. By using Dot you agree to them.

If you use Dot for a company, you agree on that company's behalf and confirm that you are allowed to.

Your account

Give accurate details when you sign up and keep them current. Keep your sign-in details private, and turn on two-step verification where you can.

You are responsible for what the people you invite to your workspace do there. Tell us at once if you think someone has used your account without permission.

Using Dot

Use Dot to answer your own customers. Do not use it to break the law, to send spam or messages people have not asked for, to pretend to be someone else, or to collect information you have no right to hold.

Do not try to get around limits, reach another company's workspace, or test our security without our written agreement. Offering Dot to other companies under your own brand needs a partner plan.

Your content and your customers' data

What you add to Dot stays yours: your documents, FAQs, web pages, and the conversations with your customers. You allow us to store and process it only so that Dot can work for you.

You confirm that you have the right to add this content, and that you tell your customers how their messages are handled. Dot shows your privacy notice at the start of a conversation; what that notice says is up to you.

Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

Answers from the assistant

The assistant writes its answers automatically from the knowledge you give it. Answers can be wrong or out of date, above all when your knowledge is.

You decide what the assistant knows and when your team takes over, and you are responsible for the answers sent in your name. Do not rely on Dot alone where a mistake could cause harm, such as medical, legal or financial advice.

Plans and payment

The pricing page shows what each plan includes and costs. Self-serve plans start with a free trial; no payment is needed to start.

At the end of the trial and of each billing period you receive an invoice, payable online or by bank transfer if we have agreed that. Prices exclude VAT.

An upgrade applies at once and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. A downgrade applies at the end of the period. If an invoice stays unpaid, we may pause your workspace until it is settled.

Changes and availability

We work to keep Dot running and tell you about planned interruptions when we can, but we do not promise that it will never be unavailable.

Dot changes as we improve it. If we remove something your plan depends on, we will tell you beforehand.

Ending your use

You can stop using Dot at any time. We may suspend or close a workspace that breaks these terms or puts other customers at risk, and we will tell you why.

Before you leave you can download your customers' data. After a workspace is closed, its data is deleted as the privacy policy describes.

Our responsibility

We provide Dot with reasonable care and skill. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profit or lost business, or for losses caused by content you added or by how you chose to use the assistant's answers.

Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law does not allow us to limit.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change matters to how you use Dot, we will tell you by email or in the dashboard before it applies. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
